May Roundup

The month of May is over, and the team has been busy reflecting on some of the exciting things we got up to – from colourful events to engaging and meeting with people and groups in our community!

ColourFest 2025

We are celebrating overwhelming success of our first ever ColourFest – three fantastic colour runs in three fantastic locations. The team had been busy working hard behind the scenes before spreading out over the region, with colourful routes in Telford, Shrewsbury and Caersws.

With over 700 people taking part, and a great group of volunteers supporting us on the day, we raised over £35,500! Thank you to everyone who chose to spend their Saturday getting covered in paint and raising money for us.

Our Events Calendar

As we say goodbye to our ColourFest event, we offer a warm welcome to the return of our October Titty Trails – two 11-mile walks along a stunning West Wales coastal route and an opportunity to explore Shropshire’s rolling hills, raising awareness of breast cancer.

This event has been a great success in previous years, so we’re excited to see it come back for another year.

What else have we been up to? This month we attended the VE Day anniversary celebrations at Meeting Point House in Telford, alongside Councillor Lee Basketer. As part of the festivities, a ceremonial bench was unveiled to commemorate the anniversary.

Putting the Fun in Fundraising

We love seeing what our fantastic community gets up to to raise money for us, whether it’s dedicated fundraisers by our supporters to staff members taking on personal challenges.

After a few years of little to no training, Naomi, our CEO and Emma, our COO, took on the Shifnal 10k, raising over £500 for us. On the day, they were joined by Maz, Beth, Emma, Emily, Maggie and Chris who also ran in support of us.

Breaking News

May also saw the launch of our new £100,000 Wellbeing Programme which offers free to access holistic activities and workshops for those in our region living with and beyond cancer.

This programme, previously known as Projects for Patients, received hugely positive feedback last year, and offered a crucial lifeline to those in our local community, so we’ve brought them back and added some exciting extras, including Nordic Walking, Tennis Shropshire and Swan Hill Studios Creative Programme.
