Newtown Association Football Club (AFC), established in 1875, is one of the oldest football clubs in Wales. Based in Newtown, Powys, they are a founding member of the Football Association of Wales and have been a constant presence in the Cymru Premier league since its inception in 1992. Known as “The Robins,” they play their home matches at Latham Park, which has a capacity of 5,000 spectators. The club has a rich history, including winning the Welsh Cup in the 1894–95 season and participating in European competitions. Their traditional colours are red and white, and they have a strong local rivalry with Caersws, as well as derby matches against Aberystwyth Town and The New Saints.
