Tremendous turnout as thousands raised from Titty Trail Shropshire.
Our inaugural Titty Trail was held last weekend in conjunction with breast cancer awareness month with a mission to get people walking and talking, breaking the taboos surrounding checking your chest and attending your cancer screenings.
On Saturday, 14th October, more than 250 people walked 10 miles and across the Long Mynd in Church Stretton to raise awareness of breast cancer and boost funds for local cancer services. Each mile was marked with a different sign and symptom of breast cancer reminding participants about the importance of regularly checking their chests.
Entrants were treated to cake and refreshments along the way to refuel as they endured 530m of elevation and combination of all weathers.
Lizzy Ellis, Fundraising Events Lead, said there was an incredible atmosphere with people signing and dancing at the start line and sharing their stories along the way.
“We wanted to host an event that was not only about fundraising but also raised awareness and got people taking about the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms to look out for. As part of our work, we run a cancer awareness and prevention service, LiveLife, which is all about getting out into the wider community and promoting the importance of early diagnosis. It was great to combine that work with fundraising to create a new type of event.
“Thank you to Reech for sponsoring the event and creating fantastic branding. From mile markers to trail cards there was lots of great visuals to remind people of signs and symptoms,” she added.
