Join us for our very first colour run – ‘The Ruby Run’ on 30th March 2019 at 11am and experience what is described as the happiest 5K in the world.

This non-competitive 5K will see the West Midlands Showground transformed into a sea of red to mark our 40th Anniversary Ruby Appeal to raise £1.25 million by June 2019.

The Ruby Run is open to people of all ages, and all abilities, who want to have fun whilst raising funds to support the work we do and it’s not all about running – you can walk, jump, skip, hop, anything you like as you go round the 5K. As you make your way around the course, marshals will be placed at set points along the route to shower you with as much Ruby Red powder as possible! Ending the run with a clean t-shirt is not an option!

If you take part in the Ruby Run you will be given a runners pack which contains a white t-shirt for you to wear on the day, a pair of red sunglasses and your own 100g bag of coloured powder to douse whoever you like! You’ll also be rewarded for your efforts with a medal at the finish line! You’ll be able to pick up your runners pack at registration on 30th March.

Registration costs £20 per adult, or £7.00 for children aged 12 and under. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a signed parental consent form, anybody under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The registration fee is mainly there to cover the cost of the event (although we’re aiming to make a small profit on this!) so we’d love it if you could raise some more funds to be able to help us reach our £1.25 million target to improve cancer services in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales! It would be great if adults could raise £50 and children £25 but we realise this may not be possible for everyone, so however much you are able to raise is appreciated. You can raise funds from asking people to sponsor you, holding a bake sale or dress down day or any fundraising idea you can think of!

The course will be held on a grass surface so if you have any access issues, please get in touch so we can advise you.

Any pets or animals are not permitted (including guide dogs due to the health risk to the animal)

Entries for this event are now closed. We’ll be hosting a colour run again in 2020, so keep your eyes peeled for when entries for this open!

Perdy's Pedal Power
