Aurona worked as a solicitor in both private practice and local government, before taking early retirement in 2007. In 1988, her father received treatment in the Cobalt Unit, the first facility funded by Lingen Davies. Had it not been for this facility, he would have had to travel a long distance, making it more difficult for him to access treatment and to receive visitors. Aurona got to know the charity when her husband Miles was Mayor of Shrewsbury and Atcham in 2004/05, and was impressed with the commitment of the fundraising team, and the local focus of the charity. As a result, she joined the board in 2008 and is one of our longest-serving trustees.
