Meet The Team – Anna Williams

Welcome to our Meet The Team series! Over the next few months we’ll be introducing you to some members of our team. Second up, we’ve chatted to our Head of Communications, Anna Williams.

Next up on our ‘Meet the Team’ series is Anna Williams, our Head of Communications.

After joining us at Lingen Davies over five years ago, Anna has been an integral member of the team. Keep reading to find out more about her time with us…

How long have you worked at Lingen Davies?

“I joined five years ago and genuinely can’t remember what life was like before.”

What does your typical day look like?

“There really is no such thing for me. Every day is totally different and that’s a big reason why I love my job so much!

“I try and check in with my team every day and deal with requests for words, graphics, and presentations. Keeping in touch is also a great opportunity to gather the teams’ thoughts on how to approach various campaigns, like our Sunflower Appeal.

“Working to ensure as many people as possible know about the great work going on across the organisation is my biggest priority.”

What is your favourite part about working on this team?

“Lingen Davies is a very special place to work. Everyone delivers 110% and we’re all so dedicated and passionate about doing our best.

“One of my favourite activities is brainstorming. I enjoy taking a small idea to my colleagues for a good chat to create a new campaign…and inevitably more work!”

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

“I always wanted to be a lawyer. I have absolutely no idea why, other than I think I wanted to be in Ally McBeal…”

What was your very first job?

“Chopping cucumber slices for a pub in Much Wenlock. I was a waitress so other duties were involved, but I always remember the cucumber because apparently my slices were too thick!”

What is the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?

“I can’t think of any one thing because I’ve worked with and for so many fabulous people over the years. I’ve just always tried to emulate some of their behaviours and guidance.

“I’m a big believer in treating others as you would wish to be treated yourself, both professionally and personally. Otherwise, my top piece of advice is if it’s not lighting your fire, change it.”

Finally, tell us something people might not know about you…

“I’m an open book so there probably aren’t many secrets or unknown stories! I lived in America for a year, sleeping on a Greyhound bus for six weeks, and had a blooming good time!”
