Lingen Davies invests in menopause support for local breast cancer patients

We are proud to share that we’ve invested £2,000 in a new pilot programme offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support people experiencing menopause symptoms due to their breast cancer treatment.

We are proud to share that we’ve invested £2,000 in a new pilot programme offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support people experiencing menopause symptoms due to their breast cancer treatment.

This pilot will offer six free CBT sessions to eligible patients who are experiencing menopausal symptoms brought on by their treatment. These sessions are designed to provide practical tools and strategies to help reduce symptoms, offering an effective alternative for those who cannot or prefer not to use HRT. Importantly, the group also offers a supportive space to connect with others who understand exactly what they’re going through.

The sessions will be delivered by Dr Joanne Ritchie, a British Menopause Society specialist, and Jenny England, a counsellor with over nine years’ experience working with cancer patients.

James Turner, Grants and Projects Coordinator for Lingen Davies, said: “We’re always looking for ways to support local people living with and beyond cancer. When we were approached to fund this project, we immediately recognised the immediate need for this kind of support in Shropshire and Telford.”

This project is delivered in partnership with the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust, and we’re delighted to be supporting such a meaningful service for the community.

Spaces for the pilot are limited. If you’d like to find out more or enquire about joining, please email [email protected].
