#UKCharityWeek 2017

December 4th-10th is #UKCharityWeek! This is a great opportunity for charities to raise awareness and funds for all the amazing causes they support. This year, we’ve got a packed week of fun for everyone to get involved in!

Saturday 2nd December (OK, not strictly in #UKCharityWeek, but close enough!)

Christmas Barn | 1.00-9.00pm | Red Barn, Longden Coleham, Shrewsbury

We’re at the lovely Red Barn pub for their Christmas Barn festival. This is the first ever Christmas Barn, and you can expect to find, live music, a selection of street food, craft stalls, local produce, Santa Claus, fireworks and much more!!! We will be there with our lovely selection of Christmas Cards, decorations, and brilliant gift ideas!

White Christmas Ceilidh | 7.30-10.00pm | Shrewsbury Academy, Corndon Crescent, Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Morris are hosting their White Christmas Ceilidh; music, dancing, a bar and a few surprises! Don’t miss out! Tickets £8 in advance, proceeds from tickets sold through Lingen Davies will be donated to the charity- for tickets please call the LD office on 01743 492396.

 

Tuesday 5th December

Festive Cake Sale | 10.00am-12.00pm | Lingen Davies Cancer Centre, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Come and get your hand made festive treats, along with Christmas Cards, and other gifts!

Tweet Up Shrewsbury | 7.00pm onwards | Platform Bar, Castle Foregate, Shrewsbury

We’ll be at the Tweet Up Shrewsbury networking event, meeting up with some of Shropshire’s finest Tweeters! There will be fun, games and just maybe the chance to win some prizes, all in the name of charity! Tickets are available in advance only, for local Twitter users. Thursday 7th December

Lingen Davies Charity Quiz | 7.30pm | The Dolphin Inn, St. Michael’s Street, Shrewsbury

Calling all trivia fans! Come on down to the Dolphin for rounds of fun, and some awesome prizes to be won! £1 entry, all proceeds to Lingen Davies! Bring your change for raffle tickets (and of course some drinks!). No need to book, just turn up!

 

Friday 8th December

Christmas Jumper Day | All Day! | Everywhere! 

Everyone can get involved with Lingen Davie Christmas Jumper Day! Get your work mates together, and don your Christmas classics in exchange for a £2 donation to the charity. Whether you go for all-out festive bling or just a subtle snowflake, throw in a few mince pies and a bottle of sherry and you’ve got yourself a fun festive fundraiser! Simply download a poster here and get those jumpers out!

Christmas Extravaganza | 8.00pm onwards | Black Park Chapel, Halton, Chirk

Another fab event from Offa Events, with a packed programme featuring music from Tom Browne, John Croft, Effervescent, John Neilson and Martin Hugill, Peter Cartlidge and Cathy Andrew. Tickets £7, call 01691 650293 to get yours!

 

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th December

Shrewsbury Winter Festival | 10.00-5.30pm | Quarry Park, Shrewsbury

Our friends at Gindifferent Bar will be at the festival all weekend, and will be donating 50p from every alcoholic drink sold to Lingen Davies- head on over for a mulled cider or a gin fizz and support us while you get into the festive spirit! Our Christmas decorations will also be available from the Gindifferent stall- come and say hello!
