The charity launched an appeal for £470,000 to build a specialised children’s cancer treatment unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
The new children’s cancer treatment unit provided en-suite facilities and an extra bed so that a parent could stay with their child overnight. It also provided a kitchen area, a family room and play areas. While the unit has now been moved to the Princess Royal Hospital, we are proud to have supported children to have treatment in the Rainbow Unit for the ten years that it was in use.
