We’re offering a Kickstart job opportunity!

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund exists to make a positive difference to lives affected by cancer in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Our charity was launched in 1979 as the Cobalt Appeal; an appeal that raised funds to bring cancer services to Shropshire for the very first time. Since then, we have raised an estimated £20 million, in today’s money, to support local services, and over 85,000 people have benefited from projects we have supported. Our work is focused in three key areas: cancer prevention and early diagnosis, excellent treatment delivered locally, and living well with and beyond cancer.

As part of the government’s Kickstart employment programme, we are looking to recruit a Digital Communications Officer to join our Fundraising Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop our digital media channels, focussing on improving content and activity. We want you to increase awareness and engagement of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund’s charitable work and support the promotion of fundraising events. You’ll be working with both the internal team and external agencies to deliver branded content.

If you think you can help us make a positive difference to lives affected by cancer in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales, we would love to hear from you.

Candidates must be under 25 and in receipt of Universal Credit.

All of our staff and volunteers are expected to work with the Lingen Davies values in mind. We are:

Ambitious and Committed – We will grow and develop, and be here to support people in our community with cancer, for many years to come

Honest and Resourceful – We use our money, time and resources wisely, making sure our charity is sustainable and we are having real impact

Experienced and Progressive – We remember and learn from our 40-year history, while we look for new and innovative ways to support people with cancer

Friendly and Supportive- We want people to enjoy being involved with Lingen Davies. We are welcoming, open and excited to hear about your ideas and stories

Proud to be Part of our Amazing Community – Our roots are in the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. We couldn’t do anything without our supporters, and we are so very proud to be making a positive difference here.
