Cancer Doesn’t Wait

We all know that cancer doesn’t discriminate. It’s a disease that can, and does, affect us all – regardless of gender, social status, race, religion and sexuality. But what we forget is, during a global pandemic, that cancer doesn’t wait either.

Whilst many of us have adhered to government guidelines and stayed home to protect the NHS, it’s estimated that over 2,300 cancer cases will go undiagnosed across the UK every week (Cancer Research UK). Cancer will simply not wait for COVID-19 to go away. Avoiding a delayed diagnosis and accessing treatment in the early stages is vital.

Now, more than ever, we need your help.

Whilst we will continue to keep fundraising for equipment to support cancer treatment, we are also working to help prevent cancer, encourage patients to seek treatment earlier, and support people to live their lives well – during and after treatment.

We can only do this with your support.

Our Impact

We must continue to invest in more advanced treatment options to keep services local. By building better cancer services, we can continue to support patients in our local community – like 27-year old Mary Evans, breast cancer patient.

Saving Lives With Your Help

Our current CT scanner is 10 years old and nearing the end of life. The improved functionalities and features of a new CT scanner would allow us to do so much more. As we now expect 1 in 2 people to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, there is a growing need for more space within our cancer centre so that we can provide the best possible care to our patients.

How can you help us make a difference?
