A lasting legacy

When Vivien Evans was poorly and in her final days in January 2016, both her and husband Roy rewrote their wills. It was their want to ensure that those who had helped Vivien through her treatment of bowel cancer receive a bequest in her Will.

Four years on, in May 2020, Roy, Vivien’s husband of 50 years passed away from heart failure peacefully in their home in Much Wenlock.

Lingen Davies are always extremely grateful that patients remember the treatment and care they received when going through a cancer diagnosis, and although we are always hopeful we can make people better, sadly that is not always the outcome.

For Lingen Davies, receiving a donation through a legacy can allow us to commit to further support for local cancer services and for that, we are extremely grateful.

We are also pleased to be able to talk to the family of those that have lost loved ones, and speaking to Vivien’s sister Gillian, hearing about her life with Roy has given us an understanding as to why they chose to donate to Lingen Davies and other local charities.
